About us

Established in 1998 by Dave Neyle and Inga Lidums, the family-owned vineyard produces an award-winning range of white and red wines under the Lobethal Road and premium Bacchant labels.

The five-hectare vineyard, nestled at the foot of Mt Torrens, has north-easterly slopes that nurture low yielding vines. The resulting wine retains elegant cool climate characteristics through minimal intervention in the vineyard and the winery.

We believe our wine is made in the vineyard - what we do there sets the foundation for great wines. We allow the wine to be simply portrayed with minimal intervention in the vineyard and the winery. Our approach to winemaking is to allow the distinctive fruit flavours to express themselves.

Lobethal Road embraces an environmentally sustainable approach to vineyard management and uses solar energy throughout the property.
